Cuban Link Chain
Cuban Link Chains, perhaps the most well-known chain, are a symbol of elegance, wealth, and status. Because of its flat surface, it is rather simple to add micro pave to it, further elevating its sparkle and glamour.
Pricing:
Prices fluctuate depending on the current price of gold. If you are looking to buy a chain and would like a quote on the specific pricing of that day, please do not hesitate to reach out through info@fineandflux.com. We are always happy to help!

Men tend to lean towards longer chains, whereas women find a more feminine aesthetic in the shorter chains. However, you should always wear whatever you are comfortable with! Franco Chain
Not to be mistaken for Fox Tails chains and Wheat chains, Franco chains have more of a squared and bulkier appearance. If you are going for larger sizes, it is important to make sure your chain is not hollow. Hollow chains are more fragile and not suitable for everyday use. Although the chain has a bulkier feel, it is actually a lot more lightweight than it seems! Another great feature in Franco Chains is that they never tangle! If you are someone who travels a lot, or even just struggles with tangled jewelry, this is the perfect option for you.
Pricing:
- 22 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $2000 CAD
- 18 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $1700 CAD
- 16 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $1600 CAD
We do have a beautiful option for a Franco chain on our website, but you can always reach out to us with any inquiries, info@fineandflux.com.
Anchor Chain
Perhaps the most unisex friendly chain, Anchor chains have more angular cut sides, creating a harsher effect, yet their overall petit look balances everything out. Anchor chains are great for layering, which is super trendy right now. They fill up space without taking too much attention away from statement pieces and pendants.
Pricing:
- 22 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $2400 CAD
- 18 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $2200 CAD
- 16 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $2000 CAD
We do have an anchor chain on our website, however, if you are looking for something more specific, we do offer custom designs! Simply reach out on info@fineandflux.com with your specific requirements and we would be happy to help.
Coffee Bean Chain
Originally designed by Gucci, the Coffee Bean chain has been a standard type of chain for a while now, even becoming a classic look. The chain is great on its own, but can also be layered! One of the great things about this design is that the chains are extremely easy to clip. It’s a great staple that effortlessly elevates any outfit!
Pricing:
- 18 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $2400 CAD
- 16 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $2250 CAD
We have 18 inches and 16 inches available on our website, however, if you would like a different length, reach out to us on info@fineandflux.com and let us know what you would like!
Paperclip Chain
Paperclip chains can be extremely versatile! You can have a super thin and dainty one as well as a bulkier and thicker one. They are both great with layering, but the thicker chains are great for filling up space when paired with daintier pendants. Our ultra-skinny paperclip design studded with mint sapphires is versatile as it can be worn as both a necklace or a bracelet.
Pricing:
- 20 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $520 CAD
- 18 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $475 CAD
- 16 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $430 CAD
As you can tell, paperclip chains tend to be much lower in price as they use a significantly lower amount of gold.
Hallow Box Chain
A more refined, yet equally masculine, version of the Cuban Link Chain. They can be worn alone, however, a lot of people tend to style them with charms, dog tags, and pendants. Although Hollow Box chains look sturdy, they are much lighter than they seem.
Pricing:
- 22 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $1150 CAD
- 18 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $950 CAD
- 16 inches of a Franco Chain retails for $845 CAD
Frequently Asked Questions
- Are chains a good investment?
Chains are not the best investment to have. When you buy a chain, you buy it for its retail price, which is when a certain percentage is added to the total amount. For example, if a chain is worth $50/g, its retail price would be $75/g. Therefore, if you try and sell it at a pawn shop, you will most likely sell it for its liquidation price, or even scrap value, which is below the cost of gold.
- Can you make a chain in 24K gold?
Technically, yes. We would recommend that if you choose to make a chain in 24K gold, you do so with larger chains, like a Cuban Link. We absolutely do not recommend that you do it for any hollow design as they are going to break very easily. 24K gold is extremely fragile, therefore, you need to be careful with the chain you choose.
- How are gold chains priced?
It is important to focus on the weight of a necklace more than the dimensions of each link. Two necklaces could have the same dimensions, but one necklace’s links could be thicker, and therefore the necklace becomes heavier. It is always prudent to pay attention to the overall weight of a chain rather than simply the dimensions.
